Ran's Story
Motivated to spread the passion for physics, Ran had taught and tutored high school students for thousands of hours before starting to teach at ZoomPhysics.

Ran’s love for physics began in high school. As a winner of the National Physics Competition in China, he was admitted with his entrace exam waived to Tsinghua University, where he double-majored in physics and computer science. He came to the States in 1990’s to study at the graduate level. After completing his physics Ph.D. qualifying exams in the States, he decided to leave the academic path and join the high-tech industry and later the business world.

Years later, it was teaching that reawakened his inner purpose. He taught physics, economics, math, and computer science at AP level, and found teaching physics has been especially rewarding. Some of his students have gone on to prestigious universities such as Cornell, Duke, and UC Berkeley. Today, he is eager to pass on his passion for physics to more high school students, in hope to trigger their interest in STEM.
